Choosing

Carpets, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), laminate and sheet vinyl, plus stair carpets and runners. All of it is supplied from the mills and distributors we know and fitted by us.

In the shop at 3 Brassey Avenue, Hampden Park, Eastbourne, where there are sample stands for every carpet range and full size boards for the hard floors. Or tell us about the room and we will bring samples out when we measure.

Yes. Colours read differently in your own light, so we would rather you chose there. Take a few from the shop or let us bring them to you.

LVT is vinyl planks or tiles laid in a pattern, waterproof and quiet. Sheet vinyl comes on a roll and goes down in one piece. Laminate is a wood fibre board with a printed surface, very hard wearing but not for wet rooms.

Glue down LVT first, then a laminate rated for it over the right underlay, and carpet over a low tog underlay. We will advise for your system.

A dense wool twist or a firm loop pile over a stair grade underlay. Long, soft piles flatten on the nosings.

Measuring and Quotes

Yes. One of the two people who run the shop comes to your home, measures every room, checks the floor underneath and quotes in writing. There is no charge and no obligation.

Everything the job needs: the flooring, the underlay or adhesive, the gripper and trims, the floor preparation, the fitting and the removal of the old floor. The figure you are given is the figure you pay.

Yes. We will beat any genuine written quote for the same flooring and the same work. Bring it to us.

No, because a price per metre without the preparation and fitting is misleading. Every job is measured and quoted for the whole thing.

Usually within the week. Call the shop on 01323 505166 and we will find a time that suits you, including Saturdays.

Eastbourne, Polegate, Hailsham, Bexhill and Lewes, and the villages around them. If you are just outside, ask; we usually can.

Fitting Day

Yes. The people who measured your rooms fit them. We do not pass the work to a third party.

No. We move the furniture and put it back. Clear the small and breakable things, and tell us about anything very heavy or fixed.

Yes. The old carpet, underlay, gripper, vinyl or laminate is lifted and taken away with us, along with the packaging and offcuts.

A single room is usually a morning or an afternoon. Stairs, or a whole house, take longer, and we tell you what to expect when we quote.

Wherever it needs it. Ply over boards, a levelling compound over concrete, a membrane if a slab reads damp. It is in the quote, not an extra on the day.

Yes, if the new floor sits higher than the old one. Thresholds get a bar or a flush strip, and radiator pipes are cut round neatly.

Aftercare

Vacuum regularly, deal with spills straight away with a clean cloth and water, and have it professionally cleaned every few years. Wool carpets shed a little at first; it stops.

A vacuum or soft brush and a damp mop with a mild cleaner. No steam mops, no abrasive pads. Felt pads under the furniture keep it looking new.

Keep an offcut and we can often patch a burn or a stain invisibly. Ask us to leave a suitable piece on fitting day.
