Consistent Style & Designs
The issue with real wood flooring and even engineered real wood flooring is that it can have many imperfections or pieces of the flooring that simply cannot be used due to natural defects in the wood.
With laminate, there is no chance of that happening, the quality control from the manufacturers is second to none.
All of this means that when you choose what style and type of laminate flooring you want in your home or premises, then it will be exactly what you wanted, with no color change, distortion or warping.
Unlike some types of carpet, laminate flooring will always need insulation underneath. Laminate cannot be installed directly on the top of your subfloor, unlike some real wood flooring that can.
The main types of under laminate insulation are –
Wooden Fibre Board
This is the thickest type of underlay for laminate and is best used when the sub flooring is uneven or if you are laying the laminate on top of existing wooden flooring. It provides medium – good thermal insulation and sound proofing.
This is the cheapest and also the thinnest type of insulation for laminate flooring. They are suited to floors that are completely level.
This type of underlay provides excellent sound insulation and is ideal for absorbing shocks, best used for upper floors. It also provides intermediate heat insulation as it is similar to polyfoam but a lot thicker. This means that it is a lot more forgiving that polyfoam and can be used on fairly uneven surfaces.
