Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is the most popular of all wooden flooring installed in houses or commercial premise’s today.

This is due to several factors, but mainly the look and feel that it gives, along with being considerable durable and affordable to match all types of budget.

Laminate flooring is manufactured by pressing together composites of wood at high temperatures.

This is then covered with a photograph or image on the very top layer that mimic’s the colors, styles and textures of real wood flooring, but without many of the shortfalls.

The materials for laminate flooring are considerable cheaper than solid or engineered wood flooring, making laminate flooring widely available and popular.

We supply & install the following types of Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is available in a huge range of styles, colors, and textures, which all fall into one of the three following categories:
Smooth Laminate
This type of laminate flooring provides you with a smooth and natural looking floor.

The surface has little to no texture so may not be ideal for families with pets or elderly people due to a lack of grip.

It is however very durable, like all types of laminate flooring, it's highly scratch resistant, and this type comes in the widest array of colors.

This is the best value laminate flooring as it offers the most durable laminate at an affordable price.
Textured Laminate
Textured laminate flooring gives a more realistic finish when compared to other laminates.

It is made the same way as standard laminate, but the top layer of wood is given texture to imitate the natural grain that occurs in real wood flooring.

The top layer of this laminate has a tough and durable finish that can withstand most things that may harm your floor in any busy household.
Hand Scraped
Choosing hand scraped laminate flooring will give the flooring in your home great depth and character.

It’s designed to be the most realistic alternative to real wood flooring available.

Not only does it look like real wood but it is also a lot more durable as well.

It doesn’t fade in sunlight, is resistant to warping and is completely stain resistant.

The benefits of Laminate Flooring

Durability
Laminate flooring is suitable for any areas within the home and most places within the workplace. It is ideal for high traffic areas and is was on the easiest to clean surfaces, just needing by simply using a dampened mop.

All of the laminate flooring that we supply and install comes with a guarantee, usually between 5 – 10 years, giving you complete peace of mind.

We also stock laminate flooring that is suitable for use in bathroom or areas that are likely to get very wet on a regular basis, this is due to a special range that has been created by Quick Step laminate flooring.
Consistent Style & Designs
The issue with real wood flooring and even engineered real wood flooring is that it can have many imperfections or pieces of the flooring that simply cannot be used due to natural defects in the wood.

With laminate, there is no chance of that happening, the quality control from the manufacturers is second to none.

All of this means that when you choose what style and type of laminate flooring you want in your home or premises, then it will be exactly what you wanted, with no color change, distortion or warping.

Insulation

Unlike some types of carpet, laminate flooring will always need insulation underneath. Laminate cannot be installed directly on the top of your subfloor, unlike some real wood flooring that can.

The main types of under laminate insulation are –
Wooden Fibre Board
This is the thickest type of underlay for laminate and is best used when the sub flooring is uneven or if you are laying the laminate on top of existing wooden flooring. It provides medium – good thermal insulation and sound proofing.
Polyfoam
This is the cheapest and also the thinnest type of insulation for laminate flooring. They are suited to floors that are completely level.
Combined Underlay
This type of underlay provides excellent sound insulation and is ideal for absorbing shocks, best used for upper floors. It also provides intermediate heat insulation as it is similar to polyfoam but a lot thicker. This means that it is a lot more forgiving that polyfoam and can be used on fairly uneven surfaces.
