Subfloor Preparation
Floorboards are screwed down and overlaid with plywood so the joints cannot show through a plank floor. Concrete and screed are tested for moisture, primed and levelled with a latex compound. Chipboard is checked for soft spots near sinks and doors. Old tiles are tapped, made good and levelled over.
A damp proof membrane goes down where a slab reads high. Boards and planks are left in the room to acclimatise. None of this is glamorous and all of it is in our quote, because it is the job.
